DECITAN AP-40

Synthetic  Organic  Resin  Tanning  Agent  based on  Water  soluble  Acrylic Polymers

Properties :

1. DECITAN AP-40 is highly viscous but readily pourable and dilutable with water.  
2. The  product is  not  miscible with  cationic  products  i.e.  mineral  tanning  agent  but  perfectly  compatible  with  synthetic  and vegetable  tanning  agents,  sulphited  fat  liquors,  anionic  dyes  and  other  anionic  products.  
3. This product may precipitate pH  < 4.0.
4. Very  small  amount  of   DECITAN AP-40  makes the  leather  grain  fully tight  without  impairing  the fineness of  the grain and  natural  feel.
5. DECITAN AP-40  is  light  fast  and gives  level  shades  when  used  in white  leather.  
6. It gives higher degree of whiteness on pale chrome leathers.  
7. The leather retanned with DECITAN AP-40 can be readily finished and adhesion of the finish is improved in comparison to the other conventionally retanned leather.

Application

DECITAN AP-40 is used for retanning of chrome leather to improve fullness and tightness of the grain without causing any harshness of grain. 

Before retannage with DECITAN AP-40, leather  must be  neutralized  properly followed  by  thorough washing.

For Sheep Nappa                    : 2 – 4 % on the shaved weight

For Sheep Cabretta                : 3 – 6 % on the shaved weight

For Resin Goat                       : 2 – 5 % on the shaved weight

For Cow calf upper                 : 3 – 5 % on the shaved weight

For Cow lining                         : 3 – 6 % on the shaved weight

For Cow softy                         : 4 – 6 % on the shaved weight

Cow Upper                              : 4 – 6 % on the shaved weight

Buff Upper                               : 3 – 6 % on the shaved weight

Buff – Upholstery                    : 3 – 5 % on the shaved weight

Buff Burnishable Upper           : 2 – 5 % on the shaved weight
